Smile F1 attendance at The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance

Hi,

You know about The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance.

On Sunday, September 9th, 60 cars, one from each year of HM The Queen's reign, are arriving as part of the Octane Jubilee Tour.

And the winner is #007

I cannot be there on sunday, probably friday or saturday, so I will miss it. fortunately, I know very well this car.

I wonder how to go to Salon Privé

Enjoy !

Phil

Yes Greg !

"On Saturday, 60 British Classics are being driven to Windsor Castle on the Royal Automobile Club's 'Best of British' Tour, including Lotus Elan, Jaguar E-type and Rolls- Royce Silver Ghost, telling the story of British motoring."

So, another F1 is possible, why not #043 ?

Re: F1 attendance at The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance

Something tells me this may be a really good event to attend, just need to work out if I can spare the time .

If you read the Octane preview on their site. "A previously unseen 2012 supercar will be shown" could this be the F1 replacement? or something else new from McLaren Automotive, they are listed as supporting the event.

Interesting to also read some illustrious race cars will also be on display, 01R, 20R maybe? or am I reading to much into this, nothing like wishfull thinking . It is the Queens Jubilee after all.

I can't see McLaren upstaging their Paris reveal of the new supercar. Also, P12 is sure to be a 2014 model. Even the 12C Spider is a 2013 car so an unseen 2012 car doesn't make all that much sense.

Hard to be sure with their description what you will get to see, but I sincerely doubt they'll be showing the new supercar publicly, even for the Queen.

Thats been around for a while now Greg, not unless its a relaunch.

In the list of cars on display, it states a 92 McLaren F1, Well that will be XP1 then .

Re: F1 attendance at The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance

Hi guys,

is someone come on friday ? It's the only possibility for me and Quiqui. I cross my fingers McLaren will bring 56XPGT, XP4, ...
let's me dreaming

Martin, it seems Octane magazine kept in reference launch year. they will announce 1994 or 1992 for #007 ?

The P4 disapeared of the list

Re: F1 attendance at The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance

Not sure I,ll bother going to this event, as when ordering a ticket, the viewing time for the sixty concours cars is just two hours two minutes a car, this is crazy. I wish to appreciate them and study them intently, not just walk pass them. Obviously this event is not run by car people, shame as I was really looking forward to going.

Re: F1 attendance at The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance

I agree on this "two hours or nothing" view. I believed the limited number of tickets was enough to avoid this situation.

I have the chance to be accredited for friday. I will try to inform surely on McLF1.com Facebook page if McLaren brings a F1... If I have wifi access

Re: F1 attendance at The Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance

McLaren display is very cool :
yellow 12C Spider
12C GT3 Great
12C with new extra bumper
MP4-1

Unfortunately, thay planned to bring a F1 and they took the GT3 instead due to the link with Jubilee.

No F1 this time. You will see at least one tomorrow.
