Won't start after briefly sitting

Happy Saturday!
I was wondering if someone could point me in a better direction than the guys at my service center. I have a 2004 Grand Prix GT2, with 177,000 miles on it. I really wanted to reach 200,000 as a milestone with my baby. The last month my car has with increasingly greater frequency had issues starting immediately or briefly after turning my car off. Once started it runs great. But if it is acting up I turn the key over, the electonics go on, gages turn over, but no sound from the engine. It eventually starts but sometimes after a dozen turns of the key. I had it into the dealership and they put in a new ignition switch, however it happened twice again today. They suspected it to be that or the body control modilule, which they told me would be much more to replace. I am wondering if anyone has any other thoughts as to what it would be, as well as is it worth it with so many miles or do I hang up my goal of 200,000 and buy a new vehicle?
They also told me that I had a leak in one of the head gaskets, not sure if this would be part of the issue.

Thank you for all of your help!

Re: Won't start after briefly sitting

One thing to check would be the condition of the battery terminals and related connections specifically the body ground connection. I had similar problem on my '04 (Intermittent no crank, no power, charging system failure message etc..) and doing the following corrected all of the electrical gremlins. Specifically follow the smaller of the two wires from the negative terminal to where it bolts to the top of the frame rail. Remove the bolt and thoroughly clean the bolt, wire connector and for an improved connection I sanded a small portion of the frame to bare metal around the bolt hole. After bolting the wire back to the frame cover the bolt with some sort of grease to prevent future corrosion. Hope this helps!

Re: Won't start after briefly sitting

Was this a GM Dealership?

So the car doesn't crank at all sometimes? Does this happen more often cold or with a warm engine?

Was the vehicle scanned for "P" and "B" codes(SECURITY SYSTEM).......

also check the ignition relay, sometimes they fit loosely and will give you intermittent problems.
