1999 Jimmy Emissions

I have been smelling gas and noticing that I am using a lot of gas. I checked the codes. I got P0442, Evaporative Emissions System Leak Detected(small leak) and P0446, Evaportative EMission System Vent Control Circuit. Where do I check for the leak and what is a vent control circuit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1999 Jimmy Emissions

Follow your nose!
If you are smelling fuel from inside the car, it could be coming from the external vent near the front cowl & under hood.

Focus on fuel line connection, fuel pressure regulator, and injector seals.

If the fuel smell is coming from the rear, it's probably a plugged purged vent, saturated charcoal filter, or bad hose near the tank. A smoke test is usually used to pinpoint any Evap problems.
