2002 suburban rear axle seal
trying to replace axel seal have removed rotor and have rear cover off i see a pin held in with a bolt will i get in trouble if i remove it also see a clip that looks like it holds axle in place

Removing the small bolt, be careful they break easily, then you can remove the cross shaft pin, push the axle in and remove the c clip, try not to lose the position of the spider gears or it can be a pita to get it all back together.

the bolt can break. If it does I used a reverse drill bit. only occured once for me. when installing the bolt clean threads and use medium lock tight. torque to the proper amount. |
