Thumbs down damn a/c

so im driving down the road today, and all of a sudden all this smoke comes out of the bottom of my car, and the a/c isnt cold anymore. So I get out and pop the hood and I just hear a pssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

so thats the second fucking compressor ive blown and its pissing me off ... my dad thinks it might be the clutch, but fuck im pissed that this shit keeps happening.

H4bangin - im gonna be in modesto tommorow anyway for the alarm, so if your parts car happens to have a matchitusa compressor lemme know.

And yes I read some of the shit sastanley posted a while back about the oils in our compressors not being compatiable with my r134a conversion and thats what I think it might be

naa ... we redid the entire system, and had to put new hoses in and shit so there was no r12 left at all

at least this time when I get the new compressor i can get the r134a at walmart hella cheap cause its on sale there

how many oz / lbs does the civic take anyways ... i remember it being like 1.9 lbs or some shit

pretty good link

http://teamchicago.com/imperial/imp-ac.htm

Basically what needs to be done is as follows ... more may need to me done in your case depending on if your system is functioning fine.

Find gas leak in the A/C system and repair
Flush system with a compound of Hydrochlorofluorocarbon-141B and Dichlorofluoroethane, which cleans and dries the old oil residue, moisture, and any other junk that may be in the system
Completely evacuate the system
Install new gas input and output stems. This prevents R12 being mixed with the R134a gas in the future
Load the new ester oil into the A/C system. This is compatible with the new R134a gas
Load the new R134a gas into the A/C system
Change the A/C system pressure & timing settings to accommodate the new R134a gas
Place a retrofit sticker on the A/C system stating it was converted to R134a usage

yeah its just under 2lbs of r134 in the system, but you can put both in there, it wont be overcharged.
