Tamiya Porsche 935/78 Martini - LeMans 1978
I just finished my first project for 2012 - Tamiya Porsche 935/78 - Moby Dick.
It´s my first Porsche finished and I am starting to like Porsches more and more.. This is the car driven by Rolf Stommelen and Manfred Schurti in the 1978 Le Mans. I decided to weather it a bit to make it look like it has been racing for the whole 24 hours and for myself I am really happy with the result ! The kit - The kit is as good as any other Tamiya-kit.. It´s a simple kit with not much detail but a good starterkit. I decided to build a full rollcage since the model only is only halfcage. Here comes the pictures - Enjoy and thanks for watching ! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() // Rickard |

I, too, am happy with the result. Looks like it was a rough 24 hours!

Building is nice. But in 1978 the race was dry and warm.

Hey! Building the same car, my favorite racecar of all time. Very inspiring. I'm gonna do a red MOMO one next that became the Martini rival years later of the same kit

Re: Tamiya Porsche 935/78 Martini - LeMans 1978
well done Rickard_Olsson!!!
I like a lot this car but i'm not a big fan of this kind of weathering. but this is not a demerit for your great job. If you are satisfied with your model, that;s the only thing it matters. the details on the weathering are awesome by the way. Miguel |
