Quadrajet Questions

I am looking to rebuild a carb and would like to get the same one i have on my car. It's an 86 brougham. The carb# is 17086004. Now i have found 17086005 which is for a manual trans, and 17086006 which is the police carb for my year caprice. My question is will either of these work on my 305 auto transmission car? much appreciated

Either one should be OK, they're more compatible than you think. My '88 has the same carb yours does (17086004) which does spec as a 1986 carb. It's on a 350.

The manual trans version might not have the proper throttle bracket for a TV cable, so if that's the case, forget about it.
