1997 Ford Escort wagon heater/air fan not working
Hello,
I just stepped into my1997 Escort Wagon and started it up. I reached over to turn on the air conditoning and the fan did not come on at all. I checked my fuses inside and outside(under the hood) and nothing seems blown. I would appreciate any advise to solve my problem Thanks Ken |

Re: 1997 Ford Escort wagon heater/air fan not working
I had a problem like this. The electrical connection at the motor was burned. Turn the switch on then try wiggling the wire where it hooks to the fan motor.

If it's anything like my 1995LX, the fan blower also has it's own circuit breaker. Check it.

Re: 1997 Ford Escort wagon heater/air fan not working
The blower motor is housed in the right footwell on the passenger side. Behind the housing there are two blue wires that plug into the blower motor resistor. Most likely this is what is causing your problem. Replace that and the end of the melted connector that you will most likely have. (you can get a new terminal at radio shack and crimp/solder it on).
