I am the biggest LOSER: Fell asleep in my z24 and she overheated.

I have a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier z24 (2.2 4cyl ecotech)
I fell asleep inside and when I woke up she was steaming from the hood.
PLEASE I do not need anyone telling me how AMITURE and retarded this was, I KNOW>
I need to know what to look for in terms of damage, and as well what I can do to (slowly but hopefully) make her feel better.

For all those who are shaking their heads in disbelief,
You'll never truly know how sorry I am.

Please help.
Sincerely, Shamrocka.

Yer lucky to be here posting. Was it still running when ya woke up from a possible long winters nap? If so let it cool down and check the coolant level. Chech the hoses and radiator and under the car for obvious leaks. Refill with the proper coolant and bleed . Check that the belt is still in place. Then ya need to have the cooling system pressure tested and checked for leaks. No pressure test is complete unless the radiator cap gets pressure tested too. Ya need to check the cooling fans operation also.
