Evo 6 looks - gone?

Has the aggression of the Evo V and VI gone down the drain?

I really hate the watered down looks of the VIII and the IX looks even worse.

Is there any chance that we will see the aggression and same design of the Evo VI?

It is only the styling that have to make this car suck..... apart from that it is close to perfect.

I dont think we'll ever see another EVO VI design. The aggressive look was lost with the EVO VIII, I can only assume Mitsubishi is trying to compete with the other companies newer designs.

EVO VI rocked and i'll still probably buy one.

Sucks. I say screw Mitsu. Problem is, by the time I can afford an Evo 6, I won't be able to find a decent model.

That's what happens when you change platforms. The Cedia chasis proved to be a more rigid and apparently more promising platform for Mitsubishi in racing competition. Like it or hate it, them's the breaks. What we know in the states as the Mirage isn't even sold anymore. The Evo 4-6 Chassis is quickly becoming extinct (if it isn't already out of production worldwide like it is in the US).

I hate Mitsubishi. The Evo 8 doesn't even deserve the name Evo. And the Evo 9 is fugly like an economy car (or worse) - I'm glad its the last Evo.

Stupid Mitsubishi

yeah the looks of the 7 and 8 aren't as aggressive, but if you ever get behind the wheel of one, you'll see what a much better overall car it really is compared to the 6 or 6.5. the chassis is so much stiffer and the handling dynamics are much better balanced. the seating position seems a bit too upright for me (read minivan-esque) but i hear you get used to it.

like with all new cars, you're gonna have the folks who scream bloody murder whenever a change is made. but as a car company, you can only do your best to make it better, especially for those who will actually step up and buy one and not just for the armchair engineers...

Idel, there are pictures that are real. And it is ugly (mistake, fugly). It is a mix of the Evo V, Evo VIII, and what else? A Civic! :o

i owne a VI VII and an VIII.

the VII and VIII are the same car.

these two chassis are much much stiffer than the VI.

yes, the six looks fantastic. you will have much time to admire the VI's beauty from the rear view of your VII or VIII though. sorry, that's just the way it is.

the parts are also a lot better for the VII and VIII (same car, therefore they use the same parts). the only real difference in these two cars is in the skin. just different shapes on the outside.

Cheers

I agree; the looks may have gone, but the beast is still there [and getting better every year, too] and the car still commands respect - except from Scooby [Subaru Impreza] drivers, as u blow them away

i don't know mate.

mitsubishi is the Evo and the Evo is mitsubishi.

i've chatted with reliable sources in the UK and Japan from Mitsubishi...

nothing indicated the IX would be the last of them. they were saying things like the Evo XXXIII....

i sure hope it's not... one of the greatest cars ever produced the Evo is.

not carrying on the Evo legacy is Mitsubishi signing their own death warrant.

Cheers

True Tso, because the Evo is the best thing Mitsu have and it is what Mitsu is most well known for. Killing it would kill Mitsu. But why the crap styling!

You can't make everyone happy when it comes to asthetics. I happen to like the Evolution 8 minus the tail lights. To each his own.
