2003 Jeep Liberty Blower motor only works on high
I thought this might help someone with a 2003 jeep 4WD 3.7L. The blower motor would only work on high. A $25.99 blower motor resistor from Autozone fixed the problem, Duralast part no# JA1476. The fix, behind the glove compartment is where the blower motor resistor hides connected to the wiring harness. Depress the two tabs on the sides of the glove compartment and let it swing down. They have a problematic lock connector that connects the wiring harness to the resistor, do not try to unhook it at this time, you'll do that later, instead remove the the two screws (5/16) that hold the resistor into the unit. The top screw is easy to get to but the bottom right is difficult. Under the glove compartment is a panel held by two (fillip) head screws. Remove them and the panel will drop so you can get a 5/16 wrench on the bottom screw of the resistor. Once they are removed, pull the whole unit out and then you can see how the connector lock works. Unhook the wiring harness from the old resistor, replace with the new one, Put the unit back into the housing, put in the top screw, not tight, then from underneath put in the lower resistor screw and tighten it down, Then tighten down the top screw. Reinstall the panel underneath the glove compartment and you are done. The reason why the highest setting (4) on my jeep works is because it bypasses the resistor, and comes straight from the battery. Hope this helps.

Re: 2003 Jeep Liberty Blower motor only works on high
Hey Jumante. Do you know of a way to test the resistor before dropping the $25 on a new one? I was thinking maybe it's something in the 1,2,3,4 control knob but replacing that resistor sounds a whole lot easier than tearing into the middle of the dash!
