04 Silverado 2500HD Duramax DSL won't start after I serviced it

i just finished changing all my fluids including, Engine, Transmission, Transfer case, front axle, and rear axle. I also replaced all the filters, including the fuel filter that I failed to fill with fuel before installing. I started the truck and it died in about 5 sec. I imediately thought of the fuel filter and removed it and filled it with diesel fuel then reinstalled it. The engine light is on and the truck will not start. I double checked the fluid levels except for the axles, and everything was good. I then tried disconnecting the battery for about 10min. to reset the computer and that failed. I have the full chevy service manual and I can not find the reason for the starting problem. I do not have the ability to check codes. What am I missing? It has got to be something simple that a tech deals with on a regular basis. Can anyone help me out? Thanks for your help. By the way, I have a 2004 chevy 2500HD Duramax Diesel, it is a 6.6L V8, with an Allison transmission.

Re: 04 Silverado 2500HD Duramax DSL won't start after I serviced it

1st thought is air in the fuel system. Should be something in the service manual about bleeding the air out. My '98 Chevy Service Manual has a very detailed description on how to do this. Big thing is not to burn out the starter. Crank for 10 secs and let cool for a couple minutes. My '05 Dodge Cummins takes about 4-5 cycles to restart even with the filter bowl filled.

The link below is all about diesels, and they are very good!
