AC Fan went out - where is it?
My AC Fan is in the process of going out. Sometimes it works fine and sometimes you can crank the fan all the way high and all you can feel is a little bit of radiating heat coming out of the vents. So, I'm 99% sure the AC fan is going out.
I do know there's a million ways to fix something wrong but one way to fix it right. I don't even know where the fan is at. I'm guessing I'll have to get to it by going under the dash. But does anyone have step-by-step instructions on how to get to it, replace it and get everything back working? Pictures would even be better. I'd like to know exactly what I'm doing before I take anything apart. |

Generally speaking , it will be under the dash ( on the passenger side of the car ) in the glove box area . What year is your car ?

Re: AC Fan went out - where is it?
Forget it, I found instructions. It looks pretty simple.
Also looking through the manual where I found instructions, it says if you see condensation blowing out of the AC, that's abnormal. I've owned my car since day one and it's always done that. When you first turn on the AC, it sometimes blows out a lot of condensation onto the window. Fun stuff. Now I know my car is more broken than I thought. |

Re: AC Fan went out - where is it?
Condensation or water? If the air dam above the fresh air opening, is missing, damaged or fell off, water gets down to the squirrel cage, and can be sent flying....another possibility is your condensate drain is plugged....
Check the motor housing for rust, due to water...also check the blower motor harness connector for melted plastic(bad connnection causes heat that could melt the plastic)..... If you are losing blower speeds, may have a problem with the resistor block..... |
