crown vic rear axel wear
This is on a 2003 police version This is the 2nd time in 12k miles that this has happened. Do not know which part failed the first time as I had a shop fix it.This time the axle wore where the outer bearing runs. See the pictures Please let me know what yoU all think I also did a hardness test and the one with damage is softer then the other one. i used a file for the test. So where can i buy hard ones? Thanks Rod ![]() ![]()

Re: crown vic rear axel wear
Smith auto can get me a dorman rear axle for 150.00 and bearing for 29.00
going to use diesel to wash out the oil that is stuck to everything . this should also remove the metal dust. Not sure what to do with it after I get it back together. Sell or keep for a spare. As the replacement I think for 2008 makes noise from 60 to 50 MPH but is quite at other speeds |
