Ford f150 installing fuel injector

My 1990 ford f150 Was skipping I found that some squirrels had chewed my wires. I fixed the wires. Still skipping... Its got new spark plugs and cables. I think it might be an injector. How do you remove one and put a new one in?

Re: Ford f150 installing fuel injector

You might try a cylinder balance test? Engine idling, Kill the cylinders one at a time, The cylinder that you kill that has the least effect on rpms is a dead or weak cylinder. Then you check spark--fuel--compression. Any applicable trouble codes?

Re: Ford f150 installing fuel injector

Most fuel injectors have a tiny micro basket filter installed in the top of the injector. I've seen these get clogged with crud and because they are so small it does not take must to completely or partially clog them. You can see these filters here: http://www.ecrater.com/p/10991905/bo...keywords=bosch type. I like to replace these filters. They are pressed in but it is easy to get them out and install new ones. Also, you should replace the injector orings whenever you remove and install injectors.
