95 geo tracker???
my 95 geo tracker runs 3300 rpm's in fifth gear it used to run 2200 rpm's

do you have any ideas?

sounds like you have a slipping clutch (will need to be replaced). I assume it is a manual transmission since you said it was fifth gear the slipping happens.
