tire size question

Has anyone had a set of 195/60/15 tires on your windstar. I have a chance to buy some alloy wheels with above size tire on them off a 99 Vovlo S70. According to tirerack.com the rims should fit as they are 5 bolt 108 bolt pattern. I know the speedometer will be fast but other than that any handling or heigth probblems???? They are Blizzak tires.

thanks

Re: tire size question

The concern would be ..... will the interior of the wheel clear the brake assemblies front and rear ... and will the tire be "centered", inside/outside, as it should be. Lots of things to examine.

Thanks 12Ounce,

Tirerack windstar specs: Tirerack Volvo:

Offset: 40mm /////////////35 or 40mm
Backspacing 5.55" ////////5.35 or 5.55"
Bolt Pattern 5-108 ////////5-108

UPDATE: These rims and tires were on craiglist, I did not look at them but he could not find a make or model number on the rims to get the complete specifics, also the tires were not good.

The other concern for me is not about the Volvo'rim but the tire size; 195/60/15 has a load index 87, so the max load on 1 tire is 1201 pounds at 35 pounds pressure. the Windstar ( if mounted with 15 inches wheel) has 215/70/15 tire size, load index is 97 so 1609 pounds capacity. With this smaller size tire, you are short of over 1600 pounds of weight capacity. I would not drive my 4000+ pounds Winnie with this smaller size of tire, matter of security and handling.
