03 GMC Sierra starting issues
My 2003 2500HD wants to keep cranking after I let go of the key. Kind of hard to explain this condition. I turn the key to start it and it cranks but no fire. I let go of the key and it will keep cranking like it is stuck still no fire. Turn the key back to the off position and try again and it starts fine. Does this randomly.

Re: 03 GMC Sierra starting issues
03+ GM vehicles got equipped with automatic starting...basically, if you end up turning key half way through the crank cycle then it will still catch on and start the truck, keeping you from having to back off the key and turn it over again.
However, since you say it doesn't fire on the first couple times, it could be the Fuel Pressure Regulator, Fuel Filter, or Fuel Pump. Check the FPR first. The fuel pressure regulator will be at the back of the passenger side fuel rail. There is a hose hooked up to it, pull it and see if gas drips out from the FPR.
