The car in the video certainly loks like #12R

I just have a feeling they'll have gotten sloppy with their research.

Saw there was a Gulf McLaren coming along, and the Harrods car, did some googling, saw the F1 won Le Mans and to the untrained eye, both cars featured and that was that.

And because of that it's probably more likely to be #12R like in the video.

That said I'll be damn happy to be proved wrong...

It all a bit of a mess. The photo shows #08R at Le Mans (02R wore race number 24 that day) the video shows a 1996 GTR (obviously). There's a bit of a gaffe in the headline as the car is not an LM either. However, setting all that aside the primary description in the body of text clearly identifies what can only be #02R.

Gulf Mclaren F1 LM. 4th overall at Le Mans 1995

2 places up from the Harrods car in qualifying in 1995 was the striking Gulf sponsored McLaren F1 GTR driven by Ray Bellm, Mark Blundell and Maurizio Sandro Sala that eventually finished a fine 4th overall, just behind the Harrods F1 McLaren. We are privileged to have both 6.1 litre, 680bhp, 12 cylinder engined cars on display that in road car version alone (!) can do 0-60 in 3 seconds and hold a top speed record of 240.1 MPH!

Regardless of the errors I'm quite excited to see this car surface again after many years being hidden away should this really prove to be 02R. Hopefully it comes out with it's 1995 Gulf livery - that would be the best news of all. And isn't Lanzante still supposed to have a close connection to #02R anyway?

A thought crossed my mind earlier this evening, it would be a great shame if McLaren did not support this event, by not attending with their two illustrious GTR,s #01R and #20R respectively.

In an anniversary year, in which they are relaunching themselves as a global player in the sportscar manufacturing sector. One would naturally assume that they would jump at any chance for publicity for their marque.

So anyone from McLarens PR dept reading this, give Ron a nudge please

Looks like this event is gaining momentum , but still no sign of McLaren showing their two illustrious GTR,s

I think I'll go, its not so expensive, just 12 pounds (compare that to the 175 pounds for Salon Prive and its a bargain)
