Start with gold and add olive green until it's dark enough....just a thought.

Re: Looking for a paint color similar to this

Gold?

I don't see any gold at all.

I agree, it looks like olive green to me. Tamiya makes several shades of camouflage green for aircraft and military models. They are all (or nearly all) flat solid colors- but applied over TS primer and covered with TS clear, they will act like any other TS color you've used. You can also match the dark grey on the back end. Should look great.

Re: Looking for a paint color similar to this

The colour is not olive green (have a look at those pictures - http://www.conceptcarz.com/events/ev...06&whichpage=1).

It is called TAWNY GOLD, TAWNY GOLD IRIDESCENT or DARK GOLD. The color code is GY9 or Y9 and it was used in1971 and 1972.

Ask your local automotive paint dealer to mix a small amount for your model.

Mixing metallic and solid colors will probably ends up with somewhat murky color. (Metallic + translucent colors work though...) Maybe add some kind of gold powder into olive green?

Or, simply order a bottle of the exact color from www.scalefinishes.com website. It's listed as $13.50 including shipping.

If i was you i would go to scalefinishes.com

James is a great person to deal with, if you give him the paint code he will mix the paint for you. Got some paint from him recently and am very happy. Although you do need an airbrush to use the paint.
