Re: hellp stuck in 4wd
What year is the truck?
That would help us to determine what could be wrong with your vehicle. What it sounds like to me is an internal fault with either your TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) or your encoder motor. I would check the wires down at the encoder motor first. This is a little easier. Are you getting any check engine lights or service 4WD messages? Let me know and we can go from there. |

Re: hellp stuck in 4wd
I'm assuming your putting the truck in neutral before trying to take it out of 4lo? If so and your still having troubles it sounds like the actuator that goes into the front diff is not working and most likely caused the fuse to blow.

the locking actuator locks the front axle as one , thats all it does ! now your problem may mean it is the encoder motor as defective. the wires to the encoder maybe shorted /damaged. the encoder may have a hole in it. the transfercase may be damaged causing the encoder to blow a fuse due to the internal fork not rotating freely etc... 90% chance it is the encoder motor...make sure the fluid is good/clean blue color..if black or very dark replace first and see if you can get it to work ... most importantly if you feel this encoder is going to be replaced make sure you place the transfercase into neutral first... ALL ENCODERS ARE SHIPPED IN NEUTRAL ...YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME INSTALLING THE REPLACEMENT ENCODER..MUST LINE UP CORRECTLY.. the transfercase needs to be rotated if stuck in a position other than neutral..never rotate the encoder or it will be damaged. |
