2002 Seirra Tow Button not working

Just picked up a 2002 Seirra and found out the tow button doesn't work. When pushing the button, nothing comes on in the dash and the tranny doesn't kick down. Does anyone know where to start to trouble shoot this? Thanks

Re: 2002 Seirra Tow Button not working

Assuming the trans is in good shape is not slipping and has all 4 gears, it will need a scan with a trans function scanner to see if the command is reaching the trans and controlling the involved solenoids in the valve body.

^This. The wires pinch and separate from the tilt and shifter movement. You will have to solder (they are too small to crimp, 22 gauge wire) them together. Take the dash bezel off, then the column covers and kickpanel for easy access.

Take a torx driver or torx bit (don't remember what size) to the shifter at the column, take it out of the column. Find your broke wires at the column, trace it, and unplug from the column. Commence your soldering.
