Cyclone GT
Hi Everyone
I have a 1971 Mercury Cyclone GT that In have been working on the last couple of years. It has a 351C motor (4bbl), TCI Super Streetfighter transmission, 4:11 gears, tru-lok rearend.... Can anyone suggest a good cam replacement...I don't want to go overboard, but I definately want the "choppy" sound. I'm also adding headers, and would appreciate recommendations for them also. Thanks Last edited by MadMuscle; 05-05-2008 at 01:49 PM. |

Re: Cyclone GT
I asked my husband your question, he used to race circle track and was changing cams all the time. We raced a 351 Windsor but our backup was a 351 cleaveland. He says go to Summit they have alot of good choices for cams.
He says go to at least a 500 or better lift if you want the chop. They have alot of information and will give you the lift number for the sound you want. We also have a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT with the 351 Cleaveland. It is the racing orange color, a barn find that had been in storage for 17 years. We also have a 1969 Cal Yarborough Cyclone, a 1980 Mercury Capri and a 1971 429 Torino Cobra Jet. Good luck in your search, if you would like to talk to him his email is [email protected]
