Re: Red wine color Jaguar XJ220

What a great build! I'm a sucker for any model with opening doors, and a Jaguar too! Even the door latches and pins are there. Nice details! I've said before I think this is one of Tamiya's most under-appreciated models and I hope your thread will motivate more people to build it.

Question: how long can you leave the lights on without fear of heat buildup? After seeing this I want to try it but I would want to leave them on at a show; say 6 hours. Did you do any venting to dissipate heat or is it even a problem?

A gorgeous build for a gorgeous car! I'm actually building one too!
Which paint did you use for the interior and the seats by the way?

What did you use for the lights?
Hawk, I used white 3mm LEDs for head lights and red 1206 SMD LEDs for tail lights.

Thank you, Mike.
The LEDs (which I used) work without heating. So I can bring this model to show, turn on lights and forget about it, as I did with Aeromax.

You are right. Those pictures were taken in October and paused, like a bottle of wine.

I guess it was Humbrol 94. The paint dryed up and I throw away the jar.

Re: Red wine color Jaguar XJ220

As the people before already mentioned this is one great model.

I followed your WIP with interest and was curious how it all would work out with the lights.
It really looks totally convincing.

All the details are just spot on. Paintwork is fantastic. I really love this one.
