Modern technology spark plugs for 472 a plus?

With the big block carbureted engines, has anyone had success running any plug other than stock for increased or more efficient combustion? I'm thinking that technology has advanced markedly since, say 1973, and that these engines might produce a little more power with more efficient modern plugs and lower emissions from unburned hydrocarbons.

Could try double plats with a 50-60 gap.
