New battery and then ......

Replaced the battery on my 98 and now the heater damper door just swings back and forth - hot air ... cold air. My research thus far indicates that I need to reset the ECC as the damper door cant find its proper place so to speak. Found a few fixes that didnt work.

Removed the RDOBATT fuse with ignition off and waited 30 seconds. Replaced fuse and turned the key to christmas tree mode and you can hear the actuator door squeak open and close. No dice.

Removed battery cables - touched them together to clear things ..... replaced cables.......turned key to xmas mode and squeeeeak open and close goes the actuator. No dice

Someone even said that rotating the temperature control knob back and forth a few times and then slowly adjusting it helped the actuator find its place but no dice for me

You guys are my last resort before the dealer and a diagnostic. I cant bear the thought so lend me your wisdom please

Does your Bravada have Climate Control or regular controls?

Update
FWIW - Took it in to have diagnostic run and I need a new climate control head unit for sure. Once that is installed I will find out if any of the actuator parts are bad. All from changing out the battery. Needless to say I am about as angry as I can get. Why they insist on tying all of those systems together so a chain reaction like this can happen is beyond my comprehension

Re: New battery and then ......

Historically, GM's Climate Control has been a general pain...even back to the 60's.
