e150,302 oil in air filter.
I have a 1993 e-150 and have oil in the air filter it is comming from the hose that is connected to the oil fill tube. I have replaced the pvc and it is still dumping oil in the air filter. Is there some other reason I would have so much oil in the air filter? egr?

Re: e150,302 oil in air filter.
Welcome to AF!
When you have so much blow by that the PCV can't handle it is routed back through the air cleaner in order to burn it so it doesn't contaminate the atmosphere. To fix it the only thing to do that would be permenant would be to re-ring the engine. You could rig up a liquid separator like you see on air compressors to keep the water out. This would trap the oil and let the gas on through. The only other thing you could do is just re-route the hose going into the air cleaner to the outside air. This would compromise your emissions and May be an illegal thing to do. |
