Red face Feel ur pain

i know ur problem, i am starting out with an automatic v6 engine, i don't recommend super charging it, the best thing to do is either get yourself some nos, (perferably if you have automatic) or make small changes to boost your horsepower. Change the tires, and also if you have flowmaster make sure you have a good exhuast system or the horsepower will not change and you will look like bad with a flowmaster that has no benefit except sound. also i reccomend to add small things, if you don't want invest in this car, such as fuel intake, or if all else fails i suppose you can change it to a v8 but not reccomended. So your options like mine are nos, or small changes to every aspect of the car. :flash:

I already posted this in the Pontiac Firebird section, thought this would help you out...
Here's some things to address to run low 12's...

Cooling System-
160 Thermostat (Manual Fan Switch (couple dollars)

Drivetrain-
RK Sport Aluminum Driveshaft 3.42 Gear in LSD

Exhaust-
RK Sport Headers 3" Catilytic Converter with 3" S-Pipe B&B Tir-Flo Catback
Fuel System-
Walbro Fuel Pump 255ltr/hr. Intank pump
Autometer FP Gauge and A/F Ratio Gauge

Ignition-
High Quality Plug Wires
NGK TR6 Plugs (1 step colder for N2O use)
NGK TR55 Plugs (stock ehat range for N/A use)

Induction-
SLP Cold Air Induction
Removed MAF Screen
Ported TB
Ported & Polished Upper/Lower Manifold

Nitrous-
TNT Nitrous System with WOT Switch

Suspension-
BMR Lower Control Arms
Removed Front Sway Bar

Transmisision-
Vig. 3200 stall Pump #8 Converter
TransGo Shift Kit (set at Level 3)

Skinnies

The majority of these things can either be done for free or bought very inexpensively....except the exhaust, converter and N2O kit of course.

Boosting is easier on internals than Nitrous. It builds up cylinder pressure much more violently than boost, boost is gradual, not a sudden rush. The fastest V6 fireturd I know of is running on boost. its actually a 93 formula, and the guy blew his lt1... and did a 89 turbo t/a swap I think the last I heard of it, it was in the 11's, and a daily driver.

I say the best thing for you to do is wait... save up your money and buy a faster car. Lt1/ls1....something that has a better go fast after market. Im not sure which v6 you have, but if you had the series II 3800... you know it can handle boost, and they are very stout little engines. 3.8l is probably one of gm's best engines... 3.8 and the 5.7.. top two from gm.

just be patient, sit and wait till you can get a car that has a better aftermarket(for the engine)

Consider a swap?! You can purchase an entire driveline with all the accessories and computer for about $1500.00!! This will truly endear you to this car!!

i havent done it myself, but i have heard that its a nightmare to change a v6 to a v8, i would recomend selling the rs and buying a z28

but thats just my opinion, and opinions are like assholes, everybodys got one and most of em stink

drop it off a cliff lol not really.

now i only say that because of the pure lack of aftermarket response, other than some s/c kits, theres basically not much out for the 3.8l.

ive beaten a few othe V6s, but im still way behind my brothers 2001 SS. I gotta give him some props. It doesnt look like ill be catching up soon either since hes just done more to it.

dont diss me cause i drive a honda i love chevys too

Shoot it out of a cannon!! Seriously, there is nothing you can do to this car to make it a performer, look at the HP to weight ratio.
