I just bought an 04 silverado and i just wanted some opinions. This is the place to find them I would think.
What are the advantages of a spray in liner compared to a drop in, and what are the best spray in and the best drop in? Thanks |

A drop in liner is good if you want a cheap, quick fix. But they will eventually start warping, they scratch the paint off of your truck, and they also allow water and dirt between the liner and the bed of the truck causing rust. A spray in liner however, is sprayed in like paint, protects the bed of your truck from rust and such, it lasts forever, will not chip, peel, or crack, and most have a lifetime warranty.
The best kinds of spray-in liners is Rhino, Line-X, and there are some more kinds, I'm not too sure about the drop in kinds except for Duraliner...

Re: 2004 Silverado crew cab Z71
I have Line-X in my truck. My dad has a factory drop in liner in his truck, it just seems like everything slides around back their. The spray in liner has a lot more grip than a drop in. I definetly think it is worth the money to get the spray in. They are very durabel and look a lot better. and like Jeverett said, they keep out moisture and dirt from eatin away at your bed. I got the Line-X rather than the Rhino because it seemed to have more grip to it and it seems to mold to the curves of the bed and around the factory tie-downs better. It just seemed like a better product to me...but that just my oppinion. You can also get a spray in liner to mtch the color of tour truck.

I also have the line-X. Researched all the major brands and Line-X came out on top. I've had it for two years now and not one problem with it. It also has a nationwide lifetime warranty. You can bring it to any line-X dealer for warranty work. Although I hardly doubt you would ever need it.

I have a line-x liner and the only negative is that anything you haul in it will get scratched if you slide it on the bed, just make sure to protect the items you are hauling with appropriate protection from scratches...thin wood, old vinyl flooring, ...etc.

Re: 2004 Silverado crew cab Z71
i have a spray in liner that is now 11 years old, i also have a drop in becasue i haul a little bit of everything in the back of my truck, i found the spray in has protecteed the bed and allowed no rusting, however the drop in makes it easier to clean loose mud, mulch, manure out of the bed of the truck by removing it and spraying off in an angle, i assume its at the descretion of the perrson using it however for a longer more useful life...... the spray in is definatly a better purchase.
