94 olds delta 88 running rough

My 04 delta 88, 3.8L is idling really rough and accelerates even rougher. QWhen i take off and driving at any speed or in any gear, the motor shakes violently. If i floor it it goes away cause of the high rpms. Its almost like its starving for gas or air. there are no gas leaks and no obstruction in the intake. i checked the maf sensor and screen both clean. newer plugs and wires, re^placed the pcv valve. i bought it 2 months ago and it sat for a year before that. please help on this matter, or if anyone has had a previous experience with this. oh, and no ses light on dash. thanks

I take it that you've run a couple of tanks of good gas through it these past months? Started and ran fine when you first bought it, but now has this problem?

Re: 94 olds delta 88 running rough

hey, i also just bought a 94 olds 88 that had been sitting. was having some issues with acceleration and some bogging at idle. replaced plugs wires fuel filter and fuel injectors with no luck. was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what was wrong with it until i popped the hood and gave it a few revs watching the motor. my issue turn out to be a vacuum line collapsing when i revved it. replaced the bad line and all my problems went away. i suggest taking a look at the lines while you rev it. make sure all your vacuum lines are in good shape. also consider getting a can of MAFS cleaner. its about 6 bucks, made by CRC, and does a great job.

Welcome to AF. Good info, but this thread has been dead for a year.
