04 Sonata cd player problems

Hi, my wife just got her moms 04 Hyundai Sonata and I gotta say its a really good vehicle. They said they have had problems with the cd player since they got the car but when I put a cd in it worked and it would eject okay and then take another cd in, no problem! Well it takes these spells where it wont take a cd in at all. It acts like theres no power to it or something even though everything around it is working. You can force a cd back as far as you want and turn the player on and off but it wont take them. On rare occassions it will just start working and suck cds in, but 99% of the time it wont work. Any ideas or suggestions?

Also I need to add that the outlet in the car for like cell phone chargers and such does not work either. Don't know if that has anything to do with the cd player or not but it makes me curious to see the player act like it has no power and the plug in not work either.
