Increase idle

I believe that my idle is set around 700 RPM. That is enough to keep it from cutting out - but it could be better.

What I wanted to do was increase the idle to around 900 RPM (if possible).

Can someone detail how to accomplish that?

there is a lil screw in the throttle body, ok this is gonna be a lil bit difficult to explain so easiest way would be... have someone in the driver seat push the gas pedal a couple of times *with the engine off*, now if you keep attention you'll see something moving near the intake manifold/throttle body that's where the accelerator cable ends, there is a screw in where the accel cable is attached at, you need to adjust that lil screw

But...

It won't move. I have WD-40'd the heck out of it.

Any suggestions on how to turn it? lol :-)

you loosen the nut to adjust the screw then tighten the nut again :-D

The manual specifies not to adjust the throttle stop screw. It's set at the factory and will play havoc w your throttle position sensor. There's a large philips screw on the throttle body called the idle air adjusting screw. Backing it out should allow extra air to bypass the metered system & the ecm will adjust the mixture to increase idle. If the ports are a little carboned up, this adjustment may be all you need. If they're plugged, they'll need to be cleaned.
If the idle control valve has failed, you'd also see the symptoms you've described. Unfortunately, It's expensive but you can try to remove and clean it first.
The line on the tach under 1000 is actually 750 and this is the correct idle setting (+ or - 50) with a/c off.
