Bronco II Engine swap

I have a 1990 Bronco II with 2.9 V-6 5-spd Automatic . I need to find out if I can put a 3.0 V-6 in it . With the Stock Trans .

I wonder why I've heard from over 20 different sorces that say the 3.0 won't fit ?

Uh, maybe the 2.9 and 3.0 have diff bellhousing bolt patterns? Or incompatible flex plate/torque converter setups?
Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it!

Maybe you'd have to swap engine, trans, and ECU to make it work properly??
