XP5 at Goodwood FOS Preview 2011

After making a brief appearance a couple weeks back at the press reveal for the MP4-12C GT3, XP5 has come out of its shell again at Goodwood yesterday for the Festival of Speed Press Preview.





I have it on very good authority now that McLaren still own the car so I am not sure what all that nonsense was about it ever being sold.

Interestingly while it was wearing the 'K8 MCL' plate at Silverstone, for some reason it had no plates fitted at Goodwood. I'm told that it's not currently registered as they don't intend to drive it on the road anymore - considered too valuable a part of their history.

I suspect we'll find some more pics in the coming days so keep your eyes peeled campers.

I note the 12C has a normal plate, so could it be a customer car ? Especially with a 458 just there

All the 12C prototypes are running around on 'normal' plates. Customer cars won't be delivered until ~May in the UK. These cars were both brought by McLaren.

In the first shot, that red-haired gent behind XP5's open door is Dan Connell, the McLaren Automotive Press Officer.

I always hoped Mclaren wouldnt sell XP5, even when we saw it in the blue tape on shakedown after a spruce up
