1969 ford thunderbird

i need exhaust manifold or preferrably headers for ford 429

There are 429 headers available, but for things like Mustangs and Torino Cobras, not a big ol' Thunderbird like yours. Not enough people, if any, ever raced a '69 T-Bird.

I mildly modded a '68 T-bird (virtually identical to a '69) back in the '90's. The choices are limited. One can get cut-and-weld header kits for the 429/460. There are pretty cool, all the tube bends are made for you. One simply does some careful tube fitting and welding to make a custom set.

IMO if you take the time and trouble to fabricate a set, keep all the patterns and dimensions. You could probably make a few $$$ by making a few and selling them on-line.


The alternative is to get some 429 Cobra Jet exhaust manifolds, as I did. But they are getting pretty rare these days.
