Need help choosing a fuel pump.

As some of you may remember i made a thread about getting my fuel pump changed a little while ago. anyways im just now getting around to it. i went to autozone yesterday and they had two fuel pumps for my car. one had a 1.5 inch threaded terminal and one had a 2 inch threaded terminal. i didn't know which one to buy so i just said i'll come back when i know which to get.
the 1.5 inch fuel pump was cheaper than the 2 inch one by 20 dollars.

Is there anyway to figure out which one fits without taking out the original fuel pump first?

Re: Need help choosing a fuel pump.

you will most likely have to look at the actual part on the car the only other possibility you could try is calling a buick dealer with your v.i.n # handy. but you need to replace it anyway right so go ahead and take it out then match it up at the part at the store

hey thanks a lot for the reply man. i ended up just having to take out the old one and bring it to the store to compare.

i got it put on, and my car started right up. but a few seconds later i heard my fuel rushing extremely hard, looked outside my car and gas was leaking everywhere. one of the pipes must have got a hole in it in the process, so now i have to replace that.

this car is driving me crazy.

Re: Need help choosing a fuel pump.

Well, better that you discover that now the car is on your driveway, than on the road.
Not only is leaking fuel dangerous but expensive too, you could end up with an empty tank somewhere (and then your fuel pump is probably broken again as well...)
