XJ8 Drivers window not working

The drivers window does not always work in my 1998 XJ8. I can hear a clicking sound when I press the button, but nothing happens. Some days it works when it wants to. Can anyone diagnose the problem?

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but I had a similiar problem with my doors not locking. I would hear a clicking sound, but I could not lock the door with the remote. I had to use a key in the drivers door to get in. I finally took it in to the Jaguar service center where they said I had a blown fuse. Remote works fine now. They don't know what caused the fuse to go out. (I have a 99 XJ8).

Thanks. I will check the fuse to see if it has blown.

Re: XJ8 Drivers window not working

I just went through this with my 1999 XJ8. I replaced the switch and it is working fine.
