can someone please help me i just tried to install a k&n pod filtre on my 2004 lancer VR-X and then my car started to act funny. i reseted the ecu then it started to get better but the next day in the morning the check engine light turned on then the car started to get all jittery(unstable). so i put the stock air filtre box back on then did the reset thing then the 10 min idle and it went back to normal no more jittering. then i drove the car then the check engine light came on again and it wont go away.

Re: problem??
make sure the connector on the air flow meter is secured/installed. Make sure there isn't blockage (shipping/paciking material) in the intake. Make sure nothing got stuck on the filament in the A/f meter.
If none of this works, reinstall the stock parts and see if it corrects it.

Re: problem??
I've beem hearing problems like these comming from the K&N filters. Budt those where for the Evos, so maybe thats not it. I guess you can try a different brand.

Re: problem??
when the idle jitters and does not seems to respond.... maybe it's the Air Sensor connectors that are faulty.... check this thingy... inside there's suppose to be a small rubber washer... check if it's there.... also ... check the clip ... maybe it's loose causing it to diconnect while driving....
I use an Apexi open pod air filter ... no problems... |
