Major electrical problems

Alright well i dont even know where to begin thats why im here. First off ill start with my AC. Well this problem has been on going I charged it and it worked for a while then it stopped working and the ac light on the display just flashed on and off. I put new o rings in it and re charged I then un pluged the ac heater control/display box and pluged it back in and the problem went away, it worked just idling as well as driving for about 10 min. Then it stoped working and the AC light just flashes on the display just as before. It does have a leak im pretty sure(havent checked yet after the new o rings) could this be due to the R134 leaking out? Or is it something else. Next problem is I was driving tonight and shut my radio off and the display screen just lost power for the clock and radio i had nothing and i couldnt get it back. I then found out when i got home that my courtesy lights or reading lamps didnt work anymore either. At first i thought it may be the radio fuse but then when i found out my inside lights didnt work either i eliminated that thought. What could cause this or where do i even begin to start to test wires? I have no idea because it envolves the inside lights and the radio/clock and i had no idea that those were wired together or even went hand in hand. Im completely lost, i would very much appreciate ANY thoughts.

Re: Major electrical problems

Update on ac: I charged it again and over charged it a bit this time and im almost positive there is a leak it was super cold at first and then got less and less cold but was still fairly cold when it stopped working. When I charged it this time tho to reset the controls and to get the ac light on the display to stop flashing I had to completely un plug my box and while it.was out I sprayed a little wd 40 on the plug in terminals. This time it lasted for about a day and a half or roughly 250 miles. Now I don't know if thats due to me over charging it last time or.due to the wd 40 I sprayed on it because it had never lasted that long on previous attempts. So I guess I am wondering if the ac light starts flashing on the display and won't kick the compressor in due to lack of freeon or because somethin electrical is messing up. As said before its a 92 and the control box has the high med and low fan settings and the recirculate butto,n if that helps because I think there is 2 control boxes for that year.

Sounds like it is time to start doing some leak testing.

Recharge with the proper amount of R-134a and add leak dye.
Then start testing for leaks with a sniffer and leak dye test light.
Also look for oil spots all over system that will indicate a leak.
Let us know what you find there.
