I have owned this 92 C1500 17 years. It has mainly driven me back and forth to work about 5 miles a day. The problem started a little over a year ago while driving on a longer trip than usual. After highway driving for an hour or so we got into traffic, when I stopped the engine died, only to start right back up. I had to keep the idle up or it would die again. we got back onto the highway and it came on home only to die when I pulled into the driveway. As time goes by It has gotten worse until now It dies when I let off the accelrator after just a few miles when the outside temp is hot. It does it with or without the a/c. I have changed the fuel filter several times. The engine temp always stays normal. Its a little worse when my fuel level is low (1/4 tank) but its done it at any fuel level. It also runs rough at idle at startup each morning for about 10 seconds. All sensors and fuel pump is original. The truck has 117000 miles on it.

Re: 92 c1500 dies at decelleration
How is your start-up and accelleration?
Pull the IAC motor off the throttle body, clean it and its bore out with carb cleaner. Try that.
