Old Master..Ride height question

What are the ride height measurements for the ZW7 suspension?

"On T series GM vehicles, (4WD) front ride height is the vertical distance between the lower-most inboard point of the steering knuckle, nearest the ball joint, to the center of the lower control arm pivot bolt. Rear chassis ride height is measured from the top of the axle housing to the lower surface of the frame. Specs differ depending on which suspension the vehicle is equpiied with. That information can be found in the RPO code of the vehicle, ZR2, Z85 etc."

I think mine is out of spec as other blazer's front ends seem to be about an inch higher off the ground at the wheel well with simular size tires.

FRONT:
(4WD) except ZR2, 4.6" to 5.0" with 4.8" being the preferred height.
ZR2 spec is 4.6" to 5.2" with 4.9" being the preferred height.
(RWD) all are 2.6" to 3.1" with 2.9" being the preferred height.

REAR:
All Blazer, Bravada, Jimmy 5.1" to 5.8" with 5.4" being the preferred height.
All Pickups are 5.1" to 6.4" with 5.8" being the preferred height.

Rear ride height is measured from the top of the rear axle tube to the lowest part of the bump stop mounting bracket. If rear ride height is less than 5.1" the springs are most likely sagged out and need replacement, (there is no adjustment to them).

Don't go by wheel well opening, ride height means CHASSIS ride height, not body ride height

is this with the weight of the vehicle on the tires?

All 4 tires on the ground, tire pressure equal in all 4 tires, no cargo in vehicle, 1/2 tank of fuel. Both front end and rear end should be jounced 3 times and measured after each time. Use the average of each measurement. Must be done on a perfectly level surface front to rear and side to side. If the usual driver is over 200 pounds, it's best to have them in the driver seat when the measurements are taken and when it is adjusted. Same criteria for the wheel alignment. Bottom line.... you want to check and adjust it loaded just as you normally drive it.
