Exclamation Brake squealing from rear....

Hi folks, Im new to this site(and fbody ownership)so be gentle with a noob

Im going to cut and paste the info I posted on my local club site to save time...if anyone has ideas, the same experience, or answers..please, feel free to chime in

Thanks
Ash.

"My 95 bird(and my buddies 94 maro) both have an issue with the rear brakes...whenever we take a left hand turn, especially a long sweeper....the brakes(pretty sure the left side)will either squeak, or let out a glass breaking screech!!

I had it on the hoist today and removed the pads, sanded them clean and chamfered the edges, as we thought that maybe the hard edge was causing the issue.....no go, still does it?

Anyone run into this on their cars? should i try a different set of pads? they seem to be running smooth with the rotor as there are no signs of gouging or anything?"

Yep! I ended up swapping out my rotors and it went away. The rotors warp to the hub.

Mine is back to doing this as well.

I would love to know what you did to make it go away.

Re: Brake squealing from rear....

Are you guys by chance doing anything ("drifting" or whatever) with the parking brake?

Re: Brake squealing from rear....

Ok, I was just thinking if you have rear rotors then perhaps there may be an issue with the parking brake locking up.

Re: Brake squealing from rear....

I have heard on other boards that it may be the rotor hitting the caliper bracket and that you can shim it. I will play with that a bit and see what we get.
