2000 engine fit in a 2001 lumina 3.1
I would like to know if a 2000 lumina engine fit a 2001 in lumina 3.1

I would think it would physically fit but there may be some differences in the electrical and /or electronic wiring layout as well as the computer programing ? Is the replacement engine the same displacement ( 3.1 L ) as the original ?

Yes it is . The only thing is that the old engine had something on the manifolds and the new on don't.
