97 Concorde Wipers not working - linkage bushings bad

97 Concorde

Wipers no longer work, but the motor and controls work fine.

I removed the cowl(4-5 plastic screws, 3 clips and 2 end turn locks). The lower linkage arm has fallen off due to bad bushings.

Does anyone know where to get bushings for this car? Dealer said it does not sell the bushings separately. They sell the arm for 70-100.

I bought some bushings at Advanced Auto but they did not fit right. Any other source for actual bushings?

Re: 97 Concorde Wipers not working - linkage bushings bad

I did not find any bushings that fit. I could order the arm for $70-100 from the dealer or get a used wiper transmission on ebay for $60 shipped.

However, I found another solution that works temporarily. On this arm (called the lower arm) there are two bushings on opposite sides of the arm. I interchanged the bushings. One was still good and the other is loose. The loose one is on the side that fits down onto the fitting (gravity holds it down). The good bushing is on the fitting that is facing upwards so it does not fall off now.

Hopefully, this will last for a while
