Oil filter
Hi, I apologize if there is already a post on this topic, but I couldn't find it. I just bought a '01 Intrigue a few months ago and it's time to change the oil and I realized that the oil filter is different than I am used to changing on this car. I was just looking for some advice on where the oil filter is located and how to change it. Thanks for the help

Re: Oil filter
Filter is an internal cartridge, it's the round black thing at the bottom of the engine towards rear of the oil pan. You'll need to buy a 74mm 15 flute oil wench (Autozone) to remove it. What you're removing is a cup with the filter sitting inside, so be careful as there will be a bit of oil in it.
Simply pull out the old cartridge, and plug in the new one. Screw the cup back in and tighten it with the wrench until it stops turning, and no more. |
