WTF??? What's better? It's a matter of opinion. What's better hp wise? They both have the same engines. You want a B16, Del sol VTEC or 00 Civic Si. You want the D16Z6 Civic EX/Si or the Del sol Si. Which is better a Civic or a sol? The Del sol is a civic.

Which is better? Well if you are talking strictly in terms of 1/4 mile times, the Del Sol VTEC is much superior to any D series Civic. So unles you are planning on getting a Civic Si, which is still a bit slower than a Del Sol VTEC for weight reasons (the Sol is a very small car), then don't even consider a normal D series Civic. Basically, the Del Sol VTEC wins hands down in all acceleration categories against most normal Civcs.

And yes, the Del Sol is actually a Civic. The full name of the car is a Honda Civic Del Sol. Just like the CRX is a Civic, called a Honda Civic CRX. It's like an EX or DX or whatever, see it how you want.

......yet in Japan, the del Sol is known as the CR-X del Sol, not the Civic del Sol....we've been over this b4. ...So in Japan, it's a CR-X, and here, it's a Civic? No, it's just a name.

Also, in 1995, Honda dropped the name Civic from del Sol.

Meanwhile, when I bought the car, I had a choice between the Sol I now own, and a green Civic next to it. I think you can tell what my answer's gonna be.

GAH You are a dumf***!!!! the sol is NOT a civic, and neither is the CR-X. In America, the CR-X del Sol was named the civic del Sol for the same reason that the CR-X was named the civic CR-X. The Civic was/is a trusted name, honda wanted the association. The sol is a member of the CR-X family, not the civic family. This is like people saying the S2k is an evolution of the sol... bzzz wrong!

And why are you posting in a del Sol forum asking if a sol or a civic is better? As MLE says... kids in the back cause accidents... accidents in the back cause kids.. STICK TO A 2 SEATER..

but you also have to think that the del sol sucks in the winter with snow(FWD but its a light little car). and as far as space there is none, you can only have 1 person in the car! so it sucks space wise but its an awesome car to have as a toy or a 2nd car, but im not sure if id like to have it as my only car.

Actually...the del Sol is heavier than a Civic....due to all the support they had to put in for the targa. Mine isn't terrible in ice, and I even have shitty tires. Just so long as ya take it slow.

Okay Why don't you lay off the drugs? If the CRX and Del sol are a totally different cars why was the chassis design based on the Civic design? Why did they use the same damn engines instead of the f22 Accord engine? Why are all the suspension and engines interchangeable? But yeah you're right. They are SOOOOO not the same.I just find it hard to take anything serious from a person who believes that removing the resonator box from her intake is a performance mod so why don't you wash your mouth out, do a little more studying,........oh yah and grow up.

b16... alright... you just pissed me off. First off, I never said my removed box was a performance mod. It allows air to get to the engine half a sec quicker and makes it a little easier to breathe, and makes it sound louder. I have other stuff done, too, but I'm not gonna show them until I have some more stuff done and it's all put back together, so get off my sack for that.

Second. If you would do YOUR homework, you would know that the original del Sol was named the CR-X del Sol and that the CR-X has the same engine, as well. Why is the sol on the same chassis as the civic? Duh because they're in the same size class. Japanese del Sols are all labeled as CR-X del Sols (see below image). Still don't believe me? give me a sec to find my article from the June 1992 Car and Driver Magazine about the "Crackerjack new CR-X that loses its top".... wow! They're talking about the DEL FUCKING SOL
