98 Blazer - warning lights on dash

98 Blazer 4X4 4 door, 117,000 miles
Sorry folks, you've been a big help so far, so I thought I would try again.
1st problem, ABS light comes on sometimes, brakes feel funny sometimes, almost like it doesn't want to stop (but always does), new brake pads, new calipers, new lines. Could it be the master cylinder? Or maybe a vacuum line I'm overlooking? I've never had one go bad before. Not sure what it feels like.
2nd problem, air bag light comes on for awhile then goes off by itself.
Could there be problem with the computer? Could both these problems be related? Brakes felt funny for a little while now, but both lights just started coming on about 2 weeks ago. Blazer runs like new, no problems with engine. Sons getting ready to drive and don't want to have to worry about him driving this. Blazer is in real good shape and runs like a top, have had it for 6 years and now but lot of problems are arising all the sudden. Don't have the money to take it to the shop.

Pads and calipers AND MASTER CYLINDER OR REGULAR BRAKE PARTS.

ABS is for anti lock brakes.
If abs light is on you need to get a ABS capable scanner on it and get abs codes.
Codes will point you in the right direction of repair.
Air bag problems and repair are best left to the professional repair people.
But when you have the abs scanner on it also check codes foe SIR/air bag with a SIR capable scanner and post back them codes to.
Post back ABS codes.

Re: 98 Blazer - warning lights on dash

A friend of mine told me he had a broken ABS sensor wire on a car he use to have, I thought it was worth a shot. Started looking around and to my surprise their was a broken wire, repaired wire and ABS light hasn't been on since. It just happens to be on the same hub and bearing assembly I replaced about 1 year ago, maybe I had to wire strung to tight or something. Another problem solved.
