.................
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Rihab Taha, a microbiologist, was taken into custody over the weekend. She has a doctorate from Britain's University of East Anglia. Taha is married to former Iraqi oil minister Amir Muhammed Rasheed, who surrendered to U.S. forces on April 28. Ranked as No. 47 on the U.S. list of the top-55 most-wanted Iraqis, he ran Iraq's military industries until becoming oil minister in 1995. Taha is not on the list.

If she's not on the 'most wanted' list, why the excitement? Is it perhaps because the U.S. press have given her a really cool nickname and relish the opportunity to use it again? And since when has a degree in microbiology been enough to be considered evidence of wrongdoing? Should I ask the entire formulations team at my cheese factory to turn themselves in too? |
