Help!
When i start my car, the rpm goes up to 2-2.5k and stays there for awhile..
Can somebody tell me what's the possible problems and any solutions to solve them? The car's a honda passport. I would post this in the passport section but it looks really dead in there.. |

Like every other car, when your engine's cold it idles high until it warms up to normal operating temp. 2-2.5rpm is pretty high but as long as it drops after it warms, it's not a problem.

In my toyota this is solved by stepping on the gas pedal momentarily, this disengages the cold start/idler cam and the engine falls to a normal idle speed. Of course if cars still had manual chokes the world would be a far better place.
