On Saturday night after several beers, I decide to go out to the cruising strip and see if I can find anyone I know. Well, I run into some punk kids drving a old style grey ecplipse turbo all wheel drive. He revs on me so I role down my window and ask him if he wants to race. You know what he said ? "you aren't worth the time." My jaw droped. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I love to talk shit to just these kind of people. I mean seriously, did he think his roody poo piece of shit was going to beat a $30,000 super car? So I start yelling back at him telling him I'll race him for $1000 on the spot. He was having no part of it. He floored his car and drove away. He bounced it off the rev limiter and missed a shift so I had to catch up and continue to make fun of him. I yelled out, "do you even know how to drive?" He didn't like that one bit and drove away. I chased him up and down the strip for 30 min yelling at him and trying to entice him to race me on the highway and not the chicken shit light to light stuff he was proposing. He was being followed by a friend in a Neon and a muffstank so I start yelling at them telling them their friend is a pussy. They tell me his car is really fast so I ask what does it do in the quarter. I was half expecting them to say he was in the 11's or something, but they said, and this is the best part, "He's well into the 14's." I almost drove straight off the road I was laughing so hard !! I said to them, "do you even know what kind of car this is ?" I assume they had no idea. I finally trap them in a parking lot and get out and go nuts. I'm yelling and screaming at this punk telling him he better back all his shit talking up and go race me for real. I finally got him to go out on the highway. I line up with the guy dead stop on the highway and tell him to go on the third honk. Of course I do it real ghetto style and leave on two, but he went also. His all wheel drive allowed him to squirt out, but I quickly realed him in and had 8 cars before 80mph and then shut down. I was going to be all nice and everything when we got back, but he gets out talking all shit still saying I jumped him by 5 cars. I did jump him, but not that much. So I yell at him to do it again for $1000 and he can do the honks. He was having no part of that either. So we continue to talk shit for a while. They out numbered us 8 to 3, but had nothing to do with wanting to fight. I was worked up and was ready for dishing out a beat down. They eventually all got in their cars and drove away yelling stuff at us out of their windows. I tried chasing them on foot for a minute and almost kicked the mustang, but they got out of there pretty fast. What a bunch of cock sucking pussies !!!

Let me get this straight.... you go out on the road after drinking (stupid act #1), pick a fight with a kid that doesn't want to race you (stupid act #2), torment the hell out of them until he finally gives in (probably just to shut you up) (stupid act #3), and then race this kid (cheating in the process (stupid act #4) ...says a lot for your $30k sports car when you are willing to cheat to win), and then try to make it a physical thing (stupid act #5)? For the safety of the public, I hope you are arrested next time you are this stupid....

Don't get me wrong, RX7's are awsome vehicles....BUT they are not the fastest. The 13b is one of the most delicate motors in existance. My friend used to have one, and he had notheing but trouble with it i.e. oil leaks, drivetrain failure etc etc. I like them though...BUT you haven't delt with a real DSM.

lol.. is that why alot of the import pro draggers use a rx7 ????? come on now... rx7 will take down a eclipse any day... it revs higher... ahhh i dunno the rest but its still a better car.. just cuz it's made the way it is.. just ask anyone and they'll say an rx7 will take on any eclipse... hehe

Pharty012, you cannot be serious..I really do not mean to insult your intelligence, BUT, eclipses (GST/GSX) are very reliable cars and can take down almost anything in it's way. And to tell you the truth, I would take my GSX over a RX7 any day. Ya gotta love that AWD! First gear in a RX7 is soooooooo short it's not even funny. All in all, its a very attractive car, but in the streets, DSM are unbeatable. Ohh yeah, if you wan't to talk about Track racing, go see John Shepard's time on the track...he pulls 9's on street tires and fully interiored. Check it out on Turbomagazine.com I wanna see a a strret legal rx7 pull that on street tires...

now since your a dsm.... that means you'll be more in favor with an eclpise..... so u'll put an eclpise infront of most likely any street car out there..... but... if you go to an unbiased resource.. they will say the rx7 would rule a eclpise any day..... but.... im not saying a eclipses are bad cars.... their really nice... and they are more reliable then the rx7 but.... the rx7 (if you do not take into consideration the fagile nature of the car) will still rule an eclipse... seriously....

No, seriously, it won't. You want unbias? Try the track. Nothing is more unbias than the owners racing their cars in a controlled environment. You know what rules a drag strip? Blown Mustangs, Ford Lightnings, Twin turbo supras, and DSMs. None more than the Supras and DSMs. It's not an opinion. It's what is seen every week on the track, which is where I spent most of last summer. The RX-7 guys are in short supply and are usually not that fast when they do show up. Sorry, but that is just the way that it is.

Now, you want a newer RX7... yeah, those are fast. Hella fast. But they are even more rare on the track than their older brothers.
